It was during Dr Mair’s ministry that the church was built and the congregation moved from their original premises. The window reflects on his teaching ministry by drawing on Luke 24 v 27. This post-resurrection appearance of Christ has him listening to two weary, disheartened travellers on the Emmaus Road. They are trying to come to terms with his death and what they had been told by two women who said that they had seen him alive that very morning. It would not be until he “broke bread with them” that they would fully realize who he was but in the meantime he taught them the meaning of his life and how it fulfilled Old Testament prophecy.
